This week, the 2015 ASPPH Sections Retreat was held in Park City, UT. The retreat included four tracks: academic affairs, finance and administration, public health practice, and research. Each group participated in a plenary session as well as topic sessions specific to each track.
The meeting started on Wednesday, June 24 with an opening plenary session. The session featured presentations from Dean Richard Kurz (North Texas) on accreditation and credentialing and Mr. Tony Mazzaschi (ASPPH) on ASPPH’s policy and advocacy efforts.
On Thursday and Friday, the attendees in each track covered a wide range of topics – for full agendas for each track please visit the retreat event page. There were 130 attendees at this year’s retreat representing 65 ASPPH-member CEPH-accredited schools and programs of public health and two associate-members. The planning committee included representatives from each track Dr. Michael Bisesi (Ohio State), Dr. Julie Kornfeld (Miami) and Dr. Robert Pack (East Tennessee) for academic affairs; Mr. Jay Evans (South Florida) and Ms. Vanessa Greer (Maryland) for finance and administration; Dr. Daniel Boatright (Oklahoma) and Ms. Jennifer Kolker (Drexel) for practice; and Dr. Kim Horn (GW), and Dr. Ann Kurth (NYU) for research.
