World No Tobacco Day, observed on May 31, was established to highlight the health risks associated with tobacco use and advocate for effective policies to reduce tobacco consumption. This year’s theme is “Tobacco – a threat to development”. It will propose measures that governments and the public should take to promote health and development by confronting the global tobacco crisis. ASPPH members are involved in a broad spectrum of research and educational activities around tobacco cessation and stands with other public health partners to commemorate the day.
