ASPPH Participates in National Consortium for Public Health Workforce Development

On Wednesday and Thursday, over 20 organizations participated in a meeting of the National Consortium for Public Health Workforce Development which was held in Bethesda, MD. The consortium is sponsored by the deBeaumont Foundation and was founded to review and evaluate national assets on public heath workforce development and to issue this call to action for a renewed commitment to national public health workforce development at federal, state and local levels. Ms. Rita Kelliher represented the Association of Schools and Programs of Public Health (ASPPH) and Ms. Allison Foster represented the National Board of Public Health Examiners (NBPHE).

Other attendees included: American Public Health Association, Association of Health Facility Survey Agencies, Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs, Association of Public Health Laboratories, Association of Public Health Nurses, Association of State and Territorial Local Health Officials, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Directors of Health Promotion and Education, Health Resources and Services Administration, National Association of Chronic Disease Directors, National Association of County and City Health Officials, National Network of Public Health Institutes, Public Health Foundation, Public Health Institute, and Safe States Alliance.
