ASPPH Presents Webinar: Liberal Education – Professional Education: Is it Time for an Intentional, Integrative Approach?

Register for the next ASPPH Presents webinar, Liberal Education – Professional Education: Is it Time for an Intentional, Integrative Approach? on August 22, 1:00 p.m. Eastern. In this webinar, the three speakers, Dr. Marc Kiviniemi,  PhD, director of undergraduate public health programs, associate professor in the department of community health and health behavior, University at Buffalo School of Public Health and Health Professions; Dr. Sara Mackenzie, MD, MPH, senior lecturer, health services clinical assistant professor, family medicine,  University of Washington School of Public Health; and Dr. Robert Pack, PhD, MPH, associate dean for academic affairs & professor of community and behavioral health,  East Tennessee State University College of Public Health, will present an overview of the state of curriculum models in undergraduate public health programs, followed by a more in-depth look at both the liberal education and the professional education approach to undergraduate curriculum design and delivery. Following the presentation, a discussion period will provide participants the opportunity to reflect on the approach of their own programs and how the liberal education and professional education perspectives presented might be applied within the context of their own program’s student population and desired outcomes.
