Boston Faculty Honored with Yale University New Professional Award

Dr. Kee Chan, an assistant professor of health sciences and epidemiology at Boston University School of Public Health has been selected as the 2013 recipient of the Yale University Eric Mood New Professional Award. This honor recognizes the career of an alumnus who is a promising new professional in the field of public health and has demonstrated leadership and service to the field. Dr. Chan received her PhD in Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases from the Yale School of Public Health in 2007. Dr. Chan is also the director of the Genomics and Decision Sciences Laboratory where she develops mathematical models to determine time-saving and cost-effective strategies in improving public health. Her research focuses on management of infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, hepatitis), newborn screening, and genomic healthcare.
