The University of Oxford named Dr. W. Ian Lipkin, John Snow Professor of Epidemiology and director of the Center for Infection and Immunity, to give this year’s prestigious Charles Simonyi Lecture. Established in 1999, the Simonyi Lectures are a series of annual lectures to promote the public understanding of science. A strong supporter of science, Dr. Simonyi is an internationally renowned computer scientist who was one of the key figures behind the development of the personal computer revolution.
