Columbia Student Represents Environmental Defense Fund at EPA Workshop

Ms. Colleen Lanier-Christensen, a graduate student in sociomedical sciences at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, represented the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) at the August 26 EPA Workshop: Applying Systematic Review to Assessments of Health Effects of Chemical Exposures. Ms. Lanier-Christensen presented on behalf of EDF in a talk entitled, “Applying Systematic Review Frameworks to Environmental Health.” As a summer research fellow with EDF in Washington, DC, she has been conducting research and providing staff support on key science policy issues related to chemical health and safety assessments, focusing on analysis methods for assessing the health effects of chemical exposures. Ms. Lanier-Christensen is currently completing a forthcoming white paper on this topic. She has also had the opportunity to assist in developing EDF commentary on the National Toxicology Program’s Draft OHAT Approach.
