Dr. Genevieve Pham-Kanter, an assistant professor in the Drexel University School of Public Health, was quoted in the Wall Street Journal and New York Times about research published in Milbank Quarterly regarding funding sources and conflicts of interest for doctors serving on FDA advisory panels. The study found that there seems to be a voting bias when experts have exclusive financial ties to firms but, surprisingly, not when they have multiple ties.
