Forty Day Journey to Better Health: Dr. Nicole Vaughn, and Dr. Darryl Brown, both assistant professors at the Drexel University School of Public Health, are leading an evaluation of the AmeriHealth Mercy Foundation’s 40-Day Journey to Better Health, which incorporates the Daniel Fast program, within Philadelphia area churches. The evaluation is tracking participants that enroll in the 40-Day Journey to Better Health to determine the impact of the Daniel Fast on weight change behavior. In addition, the study will evaluate the use of Zipongo, a mobile health application that encourages shopping for whole foods by providing grocery store discounts.
