East Tennessee Epidemiologist Elected to APHA Epidemiology Section Governing Council

Dr. Arsham Alamian, of the department of biostatistics and epidemiology at East Tennessee State University, has been elected to a two-year term as a governing councilor of the Epidemiology Section of the American Public Health Association. His term will begin at the end of this year’s Annual APHA meeting. Dr. Alamian, who is also an elected full member of the American College of Epidemiology received a PhD in Public Health with distinction, and with a specialization in epidemiology, from the University of Montreal. He completed a fellowship in public health at the Transdisciplinary Research Training Program on Interventions in Public Health of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and of the Quebec Population Health Research Network. His MSc in Pharmacy, with a specialization in pharmacoepidemiology is from Laval University in Quebec City and his BSc in Physiology is from McGill University.
