Dr. Russ Pate, professor in the department of exercise science at the University of South Carolina Arnold School of Public Health is among four Palmetto State scientists to receive Excellence in Scientific Research awards, presented by South Carolina Governor Nikki R. Haley. Dr. Pate was named the recipient of the Excellence in Scientific Research Award and the Excellence in Scientific Awareness Award. He is the first person to receive both awards in a single year.
