The Council on Linkages Between Academia and Public Health Practice (Council on Linkages), of which ASPPH is a member, is currently reviewing and revising the Core Competencies for Public Health Professionals. The Core Competencies, originally developed in 2001 and revised in 2010, are a set of skills identified by the Council on Linkages as being desirable for the delivery of the Essential Public Health Services. This review process will help ensure that these competencies keep pace with changes in the field of public health and continue to reflect the skills needed by public health professionals. As part of this process, the Council on Linkages is seeking feedback from the public health community. Multiple opportunities to provide feedback exist, including through an online feedback form. Feedback will be accepted through December 2013. To learn more about the review and revision process and other ways to provide feedback, please visit the Core Competencies review and revision process webpage or contact Mr. Jonathan Munetz at jmunetz@phf.org.
