Florida Associate Professor Receives Linda Crane Research Grant

Dr. Carolynn Patten, an associate professor of physical therapy at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, received the Linda Crane Research Grant award from the Florida Physical Therapy Association. The award recognizes her work on the topic of “Neural Mechanisms Mediating Interlimb Transfer Following Stroke.” Dr. Patten directs the Neural Control of Movement Laboratory where researchers study how the nervous system controls movement and how this control is altered following central nervous system damage caused by stroke, spinal cord injury or degenerative diseases, such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s disease.
