Dr. Glenna Ashton, a senior lecturer in the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions’ department of speech, language, and hearing sciences, was appointed by Florida Gov. Rick Scott to a three-year term on the Florida Coordinating Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The council is an advisory and coordinating body that recommends policies that address the needs of Florida’s hearing loss community. The council serves as a resource for Floridians with hearing loss who need some assistance with everyday needs including employment, education and access to services. Dr. Ashton occupies seat one representing the Florida Association of the Deaf.
