Georgia State Published in PsycCRITIQUES

Georgia State University professor Dr. John Lutzker has been published in PsycCRITIQUES, where he and PhD student Ms. Kate Guastaferro reviewed The Autistic Brain: Thinking Across the Spectrum.

In their article “We’re Lucky for Temple Grandin’s Brain”, Dr. Lutzker and Ms. Guastaferro give a brief overview of the book and discuss its strengths and weaknesses. They cite the book’s ability to make complex ideas regarding neuroscience accessible to broader audiences while also explaining that the book ended suddenly without any future perspective. Overall, they felt the book provided an excellent overview and basic understanding of autism and the way individuals with autism experience the world.

Dr. Lutzker, who is also associate dean of faculty development at the School of Public Health, is responsible for developing an evidence-based child maltreatment and neglect prevention program, SafeCare™. The program is being implemented throughout the U.S. and internationally.
