Milken Institute School of Public Health at the George Washington University (GW) was one of the winners of this year’s American Institute of Architects’ (AIA) Committee on the Environment (COTE) Top 10 Awards. The award recognizes projects that achieve high levels of sustainable performance while providing for excellent architectural function, use and experience.
The Milken Institute SPH building opened in May 2014. It features numerous environmental features such as the use of recycled building materials, a rainwater collection system, low-flow plumbing, energy-saving lighting controls and a green roof.
This award reflects Milken Institute School of Public Health’s commitment to environmental innovation and research in the name of public health.
