Dr. Michael Reich, Taro Takemi Professor of International Health Policy in the department of global health and population at  Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health, has been honored by the Japanese government with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of Japan’s policy for global public health, as well as for advancing public health in Japan.
