Dr. Fengguang Song, assistant professor of computer science at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis, has recently obtained a NIH/NHLBI-funded R01 grant (R01HL113056-01A1) to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the full spectrum of variation in biomarkers of vitamin D/ parathyroid hormone (PTH) endocrine system and to examine their potential contributions to racial/ethnic disparities in CVD risk in the Women's Health Initiative Observational Study (WHI-OS), a large racially/ethnically diverse cohort of postmenopausal women.
