LSU Alumnus Introduces First Lady Michelle Obama

Mr. Dylan Tête, LSUHSC School of Public Health Alumnus (Class of 2011), introduced First Lady Michelle Obama at the April 20 conference commemorating New Orleans as the city with the lowest homeless veteran population in the country.  This accomplishment was recognized as part of the First Lady’s steadfast support of military families and caregivers through her Joining Forces initiative.

Mr. Tête, founder and executive director of bastion community of resilience, praised Mayor Mitch Landrieu for his “Mayor’s Challenge to end Veteran Homelessness.”  Mayor Landrieu returned the praise, recognizing the Bastion organization for its many efforts in support of veterans and its help in reaching this milestone.

On behalf of Bastion, Mr. Tête stated, “We are honored and humbled to bring attention to the unique needs and strengths of America’s military families with America’s number one military family advocate, and we look forward to the work ahead.”
