Maryland Launches Online Curriculum on Minority Health Disparities and Getting Involved in Research

The Maryland Center for Health Equity (M-CHE) at the University of Maryland School of Public Health has launched Building Trust Between Minorities and Researchers, an online educational program designed to increase understanding of, interest in, and trust in research among minorities in an effort to address the underrepresentation of racial and ethnic minorities in biomedical and public health research. “We live in a time of great advances in medical science and public health…yet, unfortunately far too many racial and ethnic minority Americans live sicker and die younger than White Americans,” said Dr. Sandra Quinn, senior associate director of the M-CHE. “The benefits of medical research advances are clearly not reaching everyone.”
