Michigan: Alzheimer’s Epidemic Risk for Older Adults is Declining

A New England Journal of Medicine perspective highlights the impact of education, health, and other changes in behavior on dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Kenneth Langa, professor of health management and policy, explored these positive trends in dementia. The two key factors that may explain the decreased risk of dementia over the last few decades include people completing more school and increased awareness and prevention of heart disease, another risk factor for Alzheimer’s.
