Michigan Finds Bans on Marriage and Adoptions Affect the Mental Health of Gay Men

A new Michigan study found that young gay men who hope to be fathers experience psychological distress due to policies that ban same-sex marriage and adoption. The study, led by Dr. José Bauermeister, the John G. Searle Assistant Professor of Health Behavior and Health Education and director of the University of Michigan Center for Sexuality and Health Disparities, discusses the impact of these policies on psychological and physiological distress.
