The Affordable Care Act is not only leading to new policies and practices about health care coverage and treatment but to some difficult ethical questions as well. In a recent New York Times special section on continuing education, the article “New Health Law is Sending Many Back to School” points out that this raises many new issues for educators in public health. As a result, Dr. Robert Klitzman, professor of sociomedical sciences at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health and director of the masters in bioethics programs, has made some changes to the masters of bioethics program.
