Dr. Stephen Wisniewski, co-director of the Epidemiology Data Center at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health, will direct the data collection and statistical analysis of a $16.5 million National Institutes of Health-funded international study to evaluate treatments for pediatric traumatic brain injuries (TBI). The five-year study aims to provide compelling evidence to change clinical practices and provide recommendations for guidelines that could immediately improve outcomes for injured children.
