‘Public Health is for Everyone’ Online Toolkit

Very few public health professionals have received specific training on how to incorporate people with disabilities into their efforts.  This is why the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) has collaborated with the National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to develop Public Health is for Everyone online toolkit.

Public Health is for Everyone serves as a one-stop resource to increase the capacity of public health professionals to create programs that benefit entire communities, including people who have disabilities. Users can search and browse disability and health related resources by their interests and professional needs. Resource topics include: nutrition, health care access, physical activity, emergency preparedness, obesity, accessibility, tobacco, and general inclusion issues. Practical, hands-on resources such as field guides, factsheets, checklists, brochures, and other tools are featured.
