The HIV Section of the American Public Health Association (APHA) recently recognized Dr. Carlos E. Rodriguez-Diaz, assistant professor and coordinator of the doctoral program in public health with a specialty in social determinants of health at the social sciences department of the School of Public Health, University of Puerto Rico, for his work submitted for presentation during the Annual Meeting of APHA. Dr. Rodriguez-Diaz was recognized with the award “Excellence in Abstract Submission among New Investigators”. The paper awarded is titled: “Challenges of developing research on stigma among HIV-positive gay men and other men who have sex with men in Puerto Rico.”
