Explore new digital tools to help address some of the nation’s most pressing public health issues, including disaster preparedness and response, youth bullying prevention, and suicide prevention, developed by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). The SAMHSA Disaster App, KnowBullying, and Suicide Safe are free, interactive mobile apps that offer a wealth of resources for leaders, students, and professionals in public health. The apps are accompanied by promotional materials — making it easy to share information with individuals, colleagues, and students.
- SAMHSA Disaster App lets responders focus on what really matters—the people in need. The app provides responders with access to critical resources and SAMHSA’s Behavioral Health Treatment Services Locator, which allows users to search for and map the location of treatment facilities nearby.
- KnowBullying provides resources and guidance for parents, caregivers, and educators on ways to prevent bullying and build resilience in children. The app features conversation starters, warning signs of bullying behavior, and helpful resources for educators.
- Suicide Safe is a new suicide prevention app for mobile devices (optimized for tablets) that helps health care providers assess suicide risk and determine appropriate next steps for at-risk patients. The app features conversation starters, interactive sample case studies, and real-time access to behavioral health treatment facilities.
