The May 2014 Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) faculty development institute Building a Framework for Collaboration, running from May 4-7 in Herndon, VA, hosted 105 participants on 24 interprofessional (IPE) teams. This institute marks the sixth time that faculty from dentistry, nursing, medicine (allopathic), medicine (osteopathic), pharmacy, public health and their IPE partners (allied health, physical therapy, and social work, to name a few in attendance at this week’s institute) came together for guided learning, team-based activities, and consultation with experts and peers in order to emerge with a programmatic action plan for IPE. Specifically, teams left the institute with new and/or strengthened abilities to:
