Dr. Karl E. Peace, biostatistics professor at Georgia Southern University Jiann-Ping Hsu College of Public Health and a Georgia Cancer Coalition Distinguished Cancer Scholar, was recently honored with a plaque and testimonials at a special awards ceremony during the 20th Anniversary of the Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistics Symposium (BASS) in Orlando, FL. Recognized for his numerous contributions to the statistics professions, including founding and directing BASS, Dr. Peace has devoted 20 years of service to the profession of statistics through the conception and leadership of the Biopharmaceutical Applied Statistics Symposium. Among the profession’s premier statistical meetings, BASS has contributed to some 50 students in obtaining their doctorate or master’s degrees in biostatistics.
