The Public Health Law Research program at Temple University has released two new 50-state surveys of public health laws surrounding the prevention of bullying in schools and state foodborne illness reporting. The datasets have been published to the program’s interactive website, LawAtlas.org, joining more than 20 other public health law datasets. The anti-bullying laws map identifies the variations in laws meant to prevent bullying in schools, and can be found here. The foodborne illness reporting laws map focuses on state laws relating to foodborne illness surveillance and outbreak response, including the reporting requirements for several of the most common foodborne diseases, and can be found here.
Several ASPPH-member institutions have been chosen as trial sites for a new study intended to find effective, evidence-based strategies to address the personal and public health burden of falls injuries in older people.
