Tulane student Ms. Quinn Jackson has been appointed to the national board of directors for the Medical Students for Choice (MSFC), a multi-national organization with chapters across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Africa. She fulfilled the MPH portion of her degree in the department of global community health and behavioral sciences.

MSFC increases educational opportunities for medical students to get training in the full range of reproductive health care choices. They assist chapters at medical schools in holding events such as IUD insertion workshops, media skills trainings, birth control options counseling workshops, legal and policy advocacy trainings, and more. They also provide opportunities for medical students to participate in externships, conferences, and institutes.

“As a member of the board, I will work to ensure the expansion of these activities, evaluate the effectiveness of the various programs, and help the organization grow to reach even more students,” says Ms. Jackson.

She has been a member of the MSC chapter at the Tulane medical school since 2013. “Our chapter at Tulane School of Medicine is very active and I got involved to help my peers gain access to these important skills,” she says. “I have always been very passionate about reproductive health and provider education and training. MSFC gave me the opportunity to work with my colleagues in spreading awareness. It gave me the skills and resources to teach others the importance of abortion care and access.”
