Dr. Tapan Mehta, recent PhD graduate of the department of biostatistics; Ms. Samantha L. Connell, recent MSPH graduate in the industrial hygiene program of the department of environmental health sciences; and Ms. Stephanie M. Mathis, MPH student in the department of health behavior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, have been selected for membership in the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health, which was established “to celebrate excellent academic achievement, devotion to public health principles and outstanding service in public health.” These new members, inducted into UAB’s Upsilon Chapter, were selected based on exceptional performance in leadership, research, scholarship, and service, as well as strength of recommendation.
