UNC Assistant Professor Awarded NCI Research Award to Study Breast Cancer Disparities

Dr. Timothy Carney, assistant professor of health policy and management at the University of North Carolina Gillings School of Global Public Health, has received a two-year research supplement award of $296,654 from the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The NCI supplements are aimed at promoting diversity in health-related research programs. The parent grant, Carolina Community Network to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities, led by Dr. Paul Godley, professor of medicine at the University of North Carolina, is part of NCI’s Center to Reduce Cancer Health Disparities, Community Network Centers Program (CNCP).
