Two recent University of North Carolina Gillings School of Public Health alumni and a former staff member at the University of North Carolina Injury Prevention Research Center (IPRC) are co-authors of research that received the American Public Health Association’s Law Section Abstract of the Year Award. Mr. Corey Davis, an alumnus now with the National Health Law Program in Carrboro, Dr. Nabarun Dasgupta, 2013 graduate of the School’s epidemiology department, and Mr. Matthew W. Pierce, previously with University of North Carolina’s IPRC and now in the health, law and justice program at American University’s College of Law, received the award for their “Longitudinal and Legal Assessment and Analysis of Prescription-Monitoring Programs.” The award was presented at the Annual Meeting of the APHA on November 4.
