The Washington State Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics honored Ms. Anne Lund with the Outstanding Dietitian of the Year Award for 2017. This award is the most prestigious recognition given by the academy and highlights notable leadership, ability and service.

Ms. Lund is director of the Graduate Coordinated Program in Dietetics and a lecturer for the Nutritional Sciences Program at the University of Washington School of Public Health. She has served as a mentor or thesis committee member for more than 100 dietetics students. She joined the program in 2009.
Three others affiliated with the Nutritional Sciences Program received awards:
- Mr. Ben Atkinson, a clinical faculty member, received the Emerging Dietetic Leader Award. He is manager of Outpatient Nutrition, Informatics & Wellness at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
- Ms. Katie Farver received the Management Award for Excellence. Ms. Farver recently retired from Harborview Medical Center, where she worked as the director of Nutrition and Foodservices. She was also a clinical faculty member and a preceptor for students.
- Ms. Judy Simon received the Community Practice Award for Excellence. In addition to having her own private practice and working as a dietitian, Ms. Simon is a preceptor for interns and a clinical faculty member.
