Washington PhD Student Named Outstanding Student Author by APHA MHC Section

Ms. Megan Shepherd-Banigan, a PhD student at the University of Washington School of Public Health, in the department of health services, was selected as an American Public Health Association MCH (Maternal and Child Health) Section Outstanding Student Author for 2013. She wrote “Paid Leave Benefits Among a National Sample of Working Mothers with Infants in the United States” with Dr. Janice Bell, affiliate assistant professor of health services, which was published in Maternal Child Health Journal. The award is designed to promote and advance research related to MCH populations and to provide an opportunity to recognize exemplary student research.
