Dr. Bruce Psaty, professor of epidemiology and adjunct professor of health services at the University of Washington School of Public Health, was named one of six Distinguished Scientists by the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. The honor, created 10 years ago, goes to AHA/ASA members who have made extraordinary contributions to cardiovascular disease and research. Dr. Psaty is a professor of medicine and co-director of the Cardiovascular Health Research Unit at the University of Washington. He also is an Investigator for the Group Health Research Institute and a practicing general internist at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
