Dr. David Eaton, professor of environmental and occupational health sciences and dean of the Graduate School at the University of Washington School of Public Health, has won the 2014 Public Communications Award from the national Society of Toxicology. The Society of Toxicology, a professional association of more than 7,000 toxicologists, recognized Dr. Eaton for his commitment to public education and for his work educating lawyers about toxicology. “In addition to his many scientific contributions,” the Society said, “Dr. Eaton was one of the pioneers in recognizing the importance of disseminating the message of toxicology to the public and launched one of the first community outreach and education programs in environmental health in the nation.”
