Washington Scientists Lead Study on Genetic Variants and Esophageal Cancer Risk

Researchers from the University of Washington School of Public Health co-led an international consortium that has identified four genetic variants associated with an increased risk of esophageal cancer and its precursor, a condition called Barrett’s esophagus. The study was recently published online by Nature Genetics ahead of the December print version.
