WashU Professor Receives Grant from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has awarded Dr. Darrell L. Hudson, assistant professor at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis, a 24-month grant through the foundation’s New Connections program.

The $100,000 grant will allow Dr. Hudson to conduct a secondary data analysis to examine the relationship between social context, stress, mental health, and obesity using data drawn from the Missouri Family Study, a longitudinal study of African-American and White families from the state of Missouri.

New Connections is a national program designed to introduce new scholars to the foundation and expand the diversity of perspectives that inform its programming. New Connections seeks early- to mid-career scholars who are historically underrepresented ethnic or racial minorities, first-generation college graduates, or individuals from low-income communities.
