Dr. Debra Haire-Joshu, associate dean for research, has been named the first Joyce Wood Professor at Washington University in St. Louis Brown School of Social Work. It is also the University’s first endowed professorship in public health. An expert in the field of obesity prevention, Dr. Haire-Joshu leads studies designed to prevent intergenerational obesity and diabetes by testing lifestyle interventions for high-risk mothers and youth. Evidence derived from this research is disseminated in partnership with national organizations for optimal impact.
